Screaming Silence!

Drip drop of water from somewhere deep in the house,
tick tock of time from the clock overhead,
honking horns of cars from the road outside,
faint sounds of a pen scratching over a paper and the subtle sounds of deep breathing.

But still the silence was profound, beating on the eardrums- not allowing them to capture any sound other then the loud and harsh cries of silence! Yes, the silence was full of voices, all of them telling their own stories but making no sense in their haste to be heard over the babble of silent voices! I tried hard to understand and decipher the meaning of individual voices but the cacophony of silent cries beat against my ears and rendered then useless, the eardrums stopped straining to hear and the voices of silence died leaving behind the tick tock of time and the drip drop of water!

  2. Wonderfully deep thinking!
It is what happens to most of us. To be able to hear voice of silence we need to have that detachment from our surroundings for a moment. But that is a difficult notion. In everyday life how much do we hear what's unspoken? All that we do is keep adjusting to the noise and disturbances in and around us.

    1. Thank you sui! :)
We have become too much attuned to hearing the loud banter! a lot of frequencies need to be changed to hear the unspoken words!

  3. Wow Wow Wow .. I loved it <3.. I can so much relate to the noise that silence is making that I am in desperate attempt to calm them, and when they are calm, well that's again troublesome! As GS said, you have played the sounds so beautifully! One of the best read of the day! :)
